Twenty-One ABC’s – Part One

The main concept of the card game is to be handed cards totaling up to 21. Each player is assigned 2 cards. When a player is given a 9 or lower value card and an Ace they’ve been handed a soft hand. When the black jack player receives no Ace it is called as a hard hand. As soon as the cards have been handed to every player at the table, which includes the dealer, each blackjack player is given the chance to make 1 of six decisions:

Requesting another card (Hit): When a blackjack player announces "hit me" the dealer will deal him another card, if the adding of that card makes the total greater than 21 the blackjack player will have busted and that’s the end of the game, if the card makes the total to twenty-one the player wins and if the total hasn’t yet achieved 21 they are still in the game.

Keeping the hand you have been dealt: If a black jack player is satisfied with the hand they will hold. As soon as this has happened the dealer will disclose his or her hand and the black jack player who has accumulated twenty one or the nearest to twenty one will win.

Doubling Down: A black jack player might request to double down which increases the wager by one hundred percent they have made. Once you’ve taken this procedure you can only receive one more card. The details of doubling down are normally out lined by the table or betting house game rules so prior to gambling make sure you’re familiar with the house rules. If you are betting at an internet casino this is normally very simple.
